2012 Daily Photos

For those who are interested in following my in my daily photo project for 2012, I will, from this point on, no longer post my daily photos here on this blog. Instead, I will post the images on my main blog in the 2012 Daily Photo Category which you can assess here.

Thank you for your interest.

365/365: December 31 “Last Sunset of the Year”

I thought since my first photo of the year (https://plus.google.com/photos/104100725654421261442/albums/5644195250979208753/5644195264448570258) was of Hudson Bay Mountain, it would be only fitting that the last photo would involve the mountain somehow.

I drove up to the ski hill this afternoon an hour or so before the sun was supposed to set and waited. It gave me ample time to reflect on the past year and all that I’ve experienced in the past 365 days. The mountains on the other side of the valley as seen from the ski hill are a favourite thing of mine to photograph, and today I was pleased that the conditions were suitable (meaning there was no cloud cover preventing me from seeing the peaks).

CUSTOM FOLIOS
I have some ideas in mind for what I can do with all these images, but for now I would like to remind you of my Custom Folios that I have available. Essentially you can choose your favourite images from my 2011 daily photo project, and I’ll have them printed and shipped to you in a custom, acid-free folio case. You can read more about it on my blog (http://photistry-blog.com/custom-folios/).

Thank you to all who have commented on my photos. It has been an amazing experience, and I look forward to starting 2012′s project tomorrow.

Happy New Year.

361/365: December 27 “Vibrations”

Having wanted to try this for weeks and weeks, I finally decided tonight was the night. I watched a video from Canon where they did some high speed photography of paint drops, and this is my low-tech version of it. I can tell from my experiments tonight I have lots to learn, but nonetheless it was a fun and informative experience.

I hope you enjoy it.

360/365: December 26 “Food Colouring in Milk”

I started out trying to do a different type of photography for my daily image today, but things didn’t work out to my satisfaction. So I tried something different and ended up very pleased with the results.

359/365: December 25 “Christmas Morning”

Before my brother and his family came over to my parent’s for breakfast this morning, I spent a bit of time wandering outside with my camera. One of their shrubs in the front of their home had some Christmas lights on it that were covered in snow. I liked how the lights illuminated the snow from underneath.

358/365: December 24 “River Ice”

I went for a walk this morning out at one of my favourite locations. Walking along the riverbank in the snow, and sitting by the ice and snow was a peaceful experience. I particularly enjoyed this scene and was intrigued by how the ice and snow was hanging out over the water.
